Johnson Matthey is the world’s leading supplier or catalysts for the after-treatment of vehicle emissions.  In order to maintain this market position it is vital to maintain a leading edge technical capability not only in development of improved and new catalytic products but also that we continually improve our processes for manufacturing them. A critical step in the manufacture of all vehicle emission catalysts is the preparation of a “washcoat” of the catalyst or catalyst precursors that is subsequently coated onto the honeycomb or filter substrate.
