An opportunity exists for an Engineering Doctorate Student to lead a joint venture between Costain, COMIT projects Ltd and Loughborough University. The primary aim is to investigate how the development, adoption and deployment of ICT-enabled mobile BIM will benefit the built environment. See vacancy profile (PDF)

Research Objectives

  • Identify the likely impact on site-based data collection/access of the Government BIM strategy
  • Assess current site practice and the use of Mobile ICT in the areas likely to be affected by BIM
  • Highlight the major risks and potential benefits of deploying mobile BIM
  • Highlight gaps or issues arising from the likely demands of BIM and the limitations of current technology
  • Make recommendations to industry about the application of mobile BIM.
