Silicon Carbide Fibre Process Development

TiSICS produces silicon carbide fibre and fibre reinforced titanium matrix composites (TMC) for light weight structures and components. A number of component types have been identified where the performance benefits of the material compared to conventional metallic or non-metallic material solutions offer end user benefits. This project will focus on the interfaces between the tungsten and silicon carbide, silicon carbide and graphitic coating and the titanium matrix.
