STREAM: Industrial Doctorate Centre for the Water Sector
Sheffield University

The research programme is a collaboration between Severn Trent Water and the  University of Sheffield.
The aim of the project is to enable Severn Trent Water to optimise their river abstraction operations such that the potential of water resources within river catchments are fully utilised, the impacts on the river environment are minimised and the company can fully prepare for likely impacts of climate change and population growth. This will involve the development and testing of hardware and software which will determine river and asset conditions in real time and run modelling tools to optimise water company abstraction operations.
