An opportunity exists for an Engineering Doctorate Student to join Leicestershire County Council (LCC). LCC is responsible for transport networks in several market towns, as well as areas of the Principal Urban Area of Leicestershire. The research's primary aim is to improve the efficiency of congested road networks outside city centres by trialling and analysing the impact of traffic management and control related interventions.

This doctoral studentship is open to qualifying UK/EU graduates with a background in either transport, geography, civil engineering and/or the built environment. The candidate needs an understanding of travel behaviour, transport networks, traffic management and engineering as well as strong analytical skills and the ability to handle large data sets. They also need to be articulate, well qualified, highly motivated and possess good written and verbal communication skills.
