An opportunity exists for an Engineering Doctorate Student to join Leicestershire County Council (LCC) as part of the prestigious four-year Engineering Doctorate programme at Loughborough University, leading to the award ‘Doctor of Engineering’.

LCC is the Local Transport Authority for the county and has responsibility for transport networks in a number of market towns, as well as areas of the Principal Urban Area of Leicestershire. LCC Local Transport Plan for 2011-2026 focuses on sustaining the local economy and reducing the impact of transport on the environment. They have a state-of-the-art integrated transport, land-use and demand model (LLITM) and in 2011, were Transport Times Local Transport Authority of the Year
