The project aims to develop an early warning and decision support tool for sewer flood management in the sewer network using the Quantitative Precipitation Forecasts (QPFs) provided by the Met Office. This real time management tool focuses on prioritizing flood alerts to network operators to improve their proactive response to sewer flooding by extending the lead times using QPFs of different forecast horizons. The decision support tool will include several components: data, simulation, decision making and visualisation, which will be integrated into one interactive graphical environment.
