Drinking water is normally chlorinated before distribution to maintain disinfectant residuals during movement through distribution networks.  An undesirable side effect, the formation of disinfection by-products (DBPs) including the regulated Trihalomethanes (THMs).  To effectively control DBP formation, this project will explore the relationship between source water organic matter and THM formation.
