You will join part of a growing and influential internal research team within our Enterprise Services technical area. The research will combine engineering, management theory and the rigour of Systems Engineering in order to support the delivery organisational change within an engineering context.
The research will develop a set of novel tools and techniques to support the development of organisations in the delivery of demanding engineering programmes. The tools and techniques will be applied directly with client firms to support their development of organisational capability and constructs to deliver engineering programmes.
We are looking for entrepreneurial individuals that are self-starters, have a strong technical background and are driven to develop and roll out services that will be noted for their academic and industrial impact. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping their research programme, with support from engineering and programme management professionals within the Enterprise Services department and from across the company.
Candidates should have a minimum of a 2:1 honours degree (or equivalent) in engineering or relevant (maths, sciences) discipline. Industrial experience would be an advantage, and candidates should be able to demonstrate leadership potential. Candidates should have a strong interest in the business aspects of engineering, be motivated to conduct research in the fast-paced, dynamic environment of consultancy and possess an appetite for taking new ideas to market. Please note that, for this project, candidates will have to satisfy suitable security clearance for UK defence-related work.

A tax-free EPSRC stipend (£15,090 for 2012/2013) for the successful candidate and will be enhanced by a minimum of £3500 p.a. from Frazer-Nash.
