Specific activities of the RE are expected to include: Developing a systematic methodology for managing, archiving and mining the diverse information acquired over the whole life of the bridge.

The RE will be based at the Bridgemaster’s office at the bridge and use direct participation in bridge management as a basis for the research. The RE will also have a base in the Department of Civil Engineering at Bristol University.
