In October 2011 Eloise began an Engineering Doctorate with the CICE at Loughborough University with Industrial Sponsor Amey and she is based at their International Design Hub in Birmingham. Eloise's research project will examine the lean processes surrounding Amey's highways infrastructure with the primary aim of proposing measures to improve team behaviour and processes.

Whilst working in the construction industry as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor, Eloise conducted research into the way subcontract work packages were procured in the professional workplace entitled ‘Can process mapping lead to improvements in the subcontract procurement process?’ This peice of work  uncovered a failure to "see" the whole process, resulting in deep rooted inefficiencies which hindered both internal operations and the supply chain as a whole. The research found that whilst process mapping could bring about changes to improve the process, fundamental changes were hindered by a lack of executive leadership and communication of the company’s vision.
