Oksana joined the IDC in Systems in Bristol in 2009 as the Systems Centre manager. Prior to this, in 1999-2006 she led the R&D team in one of the first nano-bio-tech start -ups in the UK, Nanomagnetics. On her return to the University of Bristol in 2006, she pioneered a novel approach of making 3D periodic arrays of functional (magnetic) nanoparticles to study interactions and collective behaviour phenomena on nano-scale.
As the Centre Manager and Deputy Programme Director for EngD in Systems programme, Oksana is responsible for the strategic development of the centre, industry, academia and Research Engineers relationships, quality assurance of the doctorate programme and day to day management of the centre.
She is interested in research topics, addressing commonalities between complex natural physical systems and complex man-made systems: how to design them, to manage them and to learn them.
