
Steven Yeomans

Doctor Steven Yeomans was appointed Centre Research Manager at the Centre for Innovative and Collaborative Construction Engineering (CICE), Loughborough University in April 2010. Prior to joining Loughborough he was Head of Collaboration for a leading engineering organisation, a position he took up after successful completion of his own EngD at the CICE in 2005. His thesis was entitled ICT-enabled Collaborative Working Methodologies in Construction.
As former Head of Collaboration, Steven used his EngD research to create a new business venture both within his company and industry that provided consultancy and project management for the selection, procurement, development, installation and support of 3rd party Software-as-a-Service solutions across a diverse portfolio of prestigious projects, both for internal and external clients on projects such as London 2012 Olympics (£8bn), Chicago Spire ($2.5b), Lansdowne Stadium (£166m) and the EU Residential Palace (£190m). This role also witnessed him play a key role in setting the strategic direction and undertaking management of his former sponsoring organisation’s global vision for improved business performance through the adoption of Information and Communication Technologies to enhance information management, communication and collaborative working; utilising Software-as-a-Service solutions, Share Point and Building Information Modelling. He was also the first Chairman and a working member of the ICTA scoping work (under the National Platform) and a working member of the Avanti steering group (£4m DTI programme).
As Centre Research Manager, he is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the CICE. Steven has been involved with the EngD programme for over 10 years now, either as a student, industrial supervisor, academic supervisor or centre manager. Steven is also a member of the steering committee for Association of Engineering Doctorates.
