Save the date: AEngD conference will be on 29 November 2017
(03 March 2017) - The next national conference of the Association of Engineering Doctorates (AEngD) will be held at the British Library in London on the afternoon of Wednesday 29 November.
The AEngD's third national conference will provide an opportunity to discuss both the current state and the future of industry-driven engineering research in the UK. Previous events have attracted current research engineers, alumni, representatives from research centres at universities across the UK, plus stakeholders from the EPSRC, industry sponsors, and government representatives.
Details for the half-day event event are still being finalised, but are likely to include:
- A keynote presentation
- Discussion panel on promoting industry collaboration and innovation
- Finalist presentations from the AEngD's Engineering Research Writer of the Year (ERWOTY) - shortlisted candidates will need to demonstrate that they can convey information about their engineering challenge, and their research response to that challenge, in a readable way.
- A "Three minute thesis" competition (perhaps incorporating the ERWOTY presentations) challenging research engineers to present a clear explanation of their research project and its potential impacts in just 180 seconds.
Further details about the conference's speakers, the competitions, and how to register for the event will be released soon.
